Recognition for Gripple grows & grows

Gripple Limited, the world-beating manufacturer of its eponymous wire joining devices, is on the brink of being named the International Business of the Year in the 2015 UK Private Business Awards.

One of four finalists in the International Business of the Year category of the prestigious awards scheme, the Sheffield-based employee-owned company was selected from more than 2000 entrants – an unprecedented number in the scheme’s history.

With bases at home and abroad and a growing range of innovative, patented products, Gripple has become the generic brand in construction suspension, seismic, civil construction, agricultural and viticultural markets.

The UK Private Business Awards, sponsored by PwC, recognises success and celebrates the best in the private sector, highlighting and rewarding the achievements of individuals and companies alike. The judging panel comprises some of the country’s top performing CEOs, including Lord Rose.

Gordon Macrae, Gripple’s special projects manager, commented: “To have got this far is a fantastic accolade for everyone in the business. Congratulations to them all for their tremendous effort”.

The winners of The 2015 UK Private Business Awards will be announced at a formal evening event to be held in London on Wednesday 30th September 2015.

Gripple’s success so far in this awards scheme follows its chairman, Hugh Facey and Ed Stubbs, who is now its managing director, being listed in 100 of the most influential individuals in UK manufacturing.
