Why choose Gripple for Building Services?

Our suspension systems offer a faster, safer, cost effective and energy efficient alternative to threaded rod. Globally renowned and in use on a multitude of high profile projects around the world, a growing number of construction professionals are choosing Gripple solutions to deliver faster project delivery and a more aesthetically pleasing solution for the suspension of building services.

Considerable time & cost savings

Save up to 85% on installation times when you use Gripple’s suspension kits, when compared to traditional methods. A pre-engineered solution, not only are Gripple kits faster, no pre-work, such as cutting or filing is required.

Complete, off-site solutions which minimise health and safety concerns

Gripple suspension kits are ready-to-use straight from the box, removing the need for potentially hazardous hot works and cutting on-site. One box of Standard No. 2 wire rope kits weighs just 8 kg, doing the same job as 150 kg of threaded rod and channel. Not only is the weight and bulk of carry material reduced, but also the time spent working at height.

Aesthetically pleasing solutions; lightweight and virtually invisible

When comparing 2 mm wire rope to 8 mm threaded rod, the difference is easy to see. An increasing number of architects are designing spaces with ‘exposed services’ on building projects and Gripple wire rope kits enhance the workspace significantly, especially in retail environments. We also offer a range of black wire rope kits ideal for cinemas, theatres and other areas where the ceiling is painted black.

Innovative, patented solutions designed by an in-house team of engineers

Innovation is central to our business culture; we aim to achieve 25% of our annual turnover every year from products less than 5 years old. We have a dedicated, in-house ideas and innovation team, where a team of product design engineers work closely with our product management team to ensure we’re constantly delivering problem solving solutions to our customers.

Considerable reductions in packaging, vehicle movements and embodied CO2

For every metre of Gripple wire rope specified to replace threaded rod, it is estimated that a saving of 1.2 kg of embodied CO2 is made. This equates to a total embodied CO2 saving of up to 95% when switching from threaded rod to Gripple wire rope. In 2018, the use of Gripple solutions rather than traditional systems delivered an estimated CO2 saving of 20,000 tonnes – a huge environmental benefit within the context of the rapidly growing built environment.

Alongside material savings, we also ensure significant reductions in vehicle movements by providing pre-engineered solutions in compact, 30 cm square cardboard boxes. Our solutions are easily transported and handled on-site, when compared to traditional systems - 3 m lengths of threaded rod delivered to site on HGVs.
