Gripple eyes growth in construction with new sales director

Gripple, the Sheffield-based manufacturer of wire joining devices and suspension systems has strengthened its senior management team with the addition of a new sales director.

Chris Bugg took up the reins as Gripple’s sales director for the UK and Ireland in January 2019. Coming from building materials manufacturer, British Gypsum, where he was most recently head of commercial business development. Chris says: “I’m really happy with my move to Gripple. It’s a fantastic business and the people-focused culture really appealed to me.”

Chris will focus on maximising growth opportunities in the building services and civil construction sectors, as well as maintaining a focus on agriculture. He said “Gripple solutions can genuinely change how a business operates. They can help customers save time and labour costs, working much more productively, which is invaluable in today’s market. My strategy is to develop processes that help to communicate those savings in the best possible way.

“The best moments of my career have always centred around building effective teams and aiding their development. I’m very passionate about training, objective setting and helping to build the leaders of tomorrow. I’m looking forward to working with a big team to achieve some seriously ambitious targets.”

Ed Stubbs, managing director at Gripple, said: “Chris is a great asset to the team and brings a valuable in-depth understanding of the sectors we operate in. This year we will be pushing to increase our share of the market in key sectors, with new products in the pipeline and Chris will play a vital part in that growth.”

Gripple is an 100% employee owned company, with more than 700 members of staff and 600m wire joiners sold globally.
