Innovative SwiftLine Rail Dropper Shortlisted for Prestigious Industry Award
Recognising the ingenuity and efficiency of our new SwiftLine Rail Dropper, we’re pleased to announce it has been shortlisted for the Innovation Award in the Railway Industry Association’s (RIA) Railway Industry Supplier Excellence (RISE) Awards.
Celebrating the outstanding contribution of the UK rail supply community, the RIA RISE Awards highlight achievements and excellence in the railway industry.
Unveiled in August 2023, our SwiftLine Rail Dropper was developed to offer engineers working on Overhead Line Equipment (OLE) a faster, safer and easier rail dropper than those that were currently in use and available.
Driven by the ambitious target for UK rail infrastructure to achieve net zero by 2050, the creation of the SwiftLine Rail Dropper is already having a huge impact on the efficient roll out of electrification projects.
Seen as the rail industry’s route to achieving net zero, currently only 38% of the total rail network in Great Britain is electrified, with one of the reasons highlighted for this slow rollout being the time-consuming nature of installing rail droppers.
Addressing this problem, our engineers worked collaboratively with OLE engineers and contractors to understand the issues they face during installation. This feedback and insight enabled them to create the new product, with innovative new features that speed up the process, significantly reducing installation time, costs and improving safety.

Winners of the RIA RISE Awards 2024 will be announced at an award ceremony on 27th June at the Landmark in London.
