The 3,608 sqm development has a glulam beam structure with a large exposed ceiling across the shop floor. Gripple’s latest M&E suspension solution, HangPro, was used to suspend electrical containment within the building. HangPro is suitable for hanging a variety of building services with ease and versatility, including electrical services, HVAC, lighting and displays.

To support the successful delivery of the electrical installation on this glulam-structured build, Gripple’s Technical Services team worked closely with 24-7 Group from design stage through to installation. The team reviewed drawings at design stages 3 and 4 to determine the most suitable suspension systems for the structure and building services being installed. Gripple products were selected based on their ability to accommodate the unique characteristics of the exposed glulam soffit. The installation team had to navigate varying angles and drop heights from the ceiling and therefore required a suspension solution that gave them flexibility and ease of adjustment.

Primary containment runs were suspended using the UniGrip QTUB in combination with Universal Brackets. The tool-free quarter-turn locking mechanism offered a secure connection and enabled quicker installation, particularly when working at height. For secondary containment, the contractor utilised Gripple’s HangPro kits, which helped achieve a 30% reduction in installation time compared to traditional methods. These were paired with Y-Fit accessories and tray hook feet to simplify the suspension of cable trays without the need for traditional fixings or time-consuming alignment on-site. Lighting trays and busbar systems were supported using Trapeze Plus FR, delivering fire-rated performance and a discreet finish suited to the open ceiling design.

The fully pre-measured, standardised system eliminated the need for on-site cutting, measuring, or hot works, improving health and safety and streamlining the installation process. With tailored product selection, design support, and efficient installation methods, Gripple supported a smooth and high-quality M&E fit-out on this architecturally complex retail project.
