At the Lenexa Justice Center in Kansas, a $73 million public safety complex that includes the city’s new police headquarters, municipal court, and a police training facility, US Engineering utilized several Gripple products to
suspend their ductwork as well as their storm, overflow, sanitary vent, and waste piping. Products used included the Duct Trapeze and Butterfly Trapeze Hangers to suspend their rectangular duct, and UniGrip Hangers to suspend clevis hangers for their pipe—all attached at the structure via special end fittings compatible with the Gripple Spider Cast-in-Place Concrete Inserts that they installed in their metal deck as well. If threaded rod is desired for the suspension, the Spider can accommodate that also via a rod adapter. According to Rich Huber, Journeyman Plumber at US Engineering, Gripple is incredibly easy to install with almost no learning curve and he praised the UniGrip hanger for making it easy to adjust elevations, allowing them to be more precise than with threaded rod. Eric Attebery, Foreman, first used Gripple 11 years ago, and was proud to say he’s used it on every project he’s been on ever since.

“This product is awesome to use. It’s made our work so much easier.”
