For post-installation scenarios, the retrofit bottom bracket provides a quick and flexible way to add bracing without compromising safety or compliance, making it the ideal choice for reliable seismic protection across a wide range of projects.

Each kit includes 1 x Structural Bracket pre-attached to a Universal Fork, 1 x Retrofit Service Bracket pre-attached to a Universal Fork, and 4 x 3/8” Hex Head Self-Drilling Screws, ensuring everything you need for a secure and efficient installation.

How it Works:

Installing the TecLoc Rigid Bracing Brackets is quick and straightforward. Just follow these simple steps:

Download the Technical Data Pack
Step 1. Position the retrofit bracket around the rod, and tighten the nut to secure.
Step 2. Adjust to the desired angle and tighten the bolt against the rod.
Step 3. Fit the pre-cut bracing substrate (strut or pipe) into the bottom bracket and mark anchor points if required.
Step 4. Fix the top structure bracket to the anchor location using the correct fixing, ensuring low-pry load positioning.
Step 5. Secure both top and bottom brackets with self-tapping screws once aligned
Step 6. Repeat the process for lateral and longitudinal bracing as needed.

Frequently Asked Questions

We have calculated compression loads, so this would indicate to the engineer if a suitable solution is available. You could use RMC pipe, as this is a stronger alternative, also. Worst case, if the loads, etc., are too high, we have a different solution that works with a strut if the design is a no-go.

Find out the engineering partner and provide the details to get into their submittals. Often specifies ‘or similar’ on product solutions, so this may be a sensible workaround in the short term.

This will be handled during the engineering, and you would then be advised which drops are seismic and which then need stiffening. At Gripple, we only indicate the drops that require this and don’t offer it as standard.
