We are now recruiting for an experienced Credit Controller to work in our established ledger team as we head into a period of change to support the growth of the company globally.

What is the role

Working alongside our Sheffield-based accounts team responsible for six UK sites and seven overseas sites, you will join a fast-moving department covering a range of accounting tasks and responsibilities. Duties will include:

  • UK and overseas credit control
  • conducting credit checks on new and existing customers
  • chasing payments and resolving problems in relation to invoice queries and payments
  • allocation of customer receipts including complex settlement discount structures
  • liaising with UK and overseas sales colleagues
  • sales receipt forecasts
  • highlighting and reporting debtor problems to management
  • month end reconciliations, debit note and credit note processing
  • customer rebate management and analysis

Working hours  

Mon - Fri 8.30am - 5.00pm. The Company operates a flexible working policy, with office hours of 7.00am-7.00pm Monday-Friday.

Who you are

You must be qualified by experience and should also be able to offer the following:

  • Confidence working with multiple IT systems (currently MS Office, Power BI and E8, our bespoke ERP system), with good Excel skills and ability to adapt to change positively
  • An ability to work well both as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision
  • A flexible approach and strong organisational skills
  • Good people engagement and communication skills in all areas of the business
  • Must have experience of cashbook, daily banking and general ledger work to provide holiday cover within the ledger team
  • Capable of ledger management and fundamental accounting practices (i.e. double entry)
  • Ability to identify improvements and implement them
  • Previous work with a group of companies or multiple regions, and therefore able to work alongside international colleagues
