Step 1: Position the pre-cut conduit alongside the threaded rod.
Step 2: Check spacing from the bracket/strut as per install guidelines.
Step 3: Open the clip by squeezing the jaw, then fit it around the rod and conduit.
Step 4: Release and hand-tighten the clip to secure it in place.
Step 5: Repeat with additional clips, keeping the recommended spacing. Mirror the process on the opposite rod drop to fully stiffen the conduit.

Frequently Asked Questions

We have calculated compression loads, so this would indicate to the engineer if a suitable solution is available. You could use RMC pipe, as this is a stronger alternative, also. Worst case, if the loads, etc., are too high, we have a different solution that works with a strut if the design is a no-go.

The installation time on the TecLoc Conduit Claw is much faster than strut solutions, so you need to consider labor rates.

Find out the engineering partner and provide the details to get into their submittals. Often specifies ‘or similar’ on product solutions, so this may be a sensible workaround in the short term.

This will be handled during the engineering, and you would then be advised which drops are seismic and which then need stiffening. At Gripple, we only indicate the drops that require this and don’t offer it as standard.
