On Thursday, 14 July 2016, Denis Anthoni, Director of Gripple Europe in Obernai (France) and Roger Hall, Vice-President of the group, were received at Buckingham Palace to get the « Queen’s Award for international trade » from the Queen herself. Created in 1966, the « Queen’s Award » is the most prestigious award that an English company can win.
After a gold medal at the international Concours Lépine in 1990 and the Grand Price of the President (a vase from Sèvres from the President François Mitterrand), Gripple is one of the few British companies to win a price in each category of the « Queen’s Award »: innovation, sustainable development, and now international trade.
In the category international trade, the growth of international sales during six consecutive years is one of the most important criteria for the jury of government representatives. With 86 % of sales in export and 3 900 customers in 80 countries, Gripple wins the Queen’s Award in this category this year.
The Gripple spirit brings innovation and growth
« The strategic goals and priorities contribute to the economic success of a company. By matching a strong corporate culture with these elements we give the company the necessary strength to achieve extraordinary results, growth and continuous innovation », explains Denis Anthoni, director of Gripple Europe.
« This latest Queen’s Award is a great example and a wonderful reward ».
There is a friendly and collaborative working atmosphere in the office in Obernai in Alsace. So many reasons to adhere to the Gripple spirit! « As an example, the values written on the walls like humility, team spirit, right to make mistakes and innovation ». These values are even more captivating when you know that the founder Hugh Facey offered the company to its employees. Today, 100 % of the employees are shareholders of the company.
This specific corporate culture helped the European subsidiary to grow very fast whilst keeping a great cohesion and a continuous growth in productivity. In 2016, Gripple Europe has grown its workforce by 40 % (35 new employees).
« Gripple is really proud to have won this price that rewards its unique corporate culture and its investments in new European markets », concludes Denis Anthoni.
