FAQs

There are so many different ways to work with wire and wire rope. Installation methods for hangers, fence, trellising wire etc. differ from region to region and from country to country.

Gripple now work in over 80 countries and here are some of the most common questions that we are asked. We hope these help, if you need further advice, please contact us and we will help.

Can Gripple hangers be adjusted?

Gripple hangers can be adjusted upwards, and it is better practice to hang low and work up, removing the need for using the setting key. Once the installation is secured on Gripple hangers, the load can be raised and the hangers adjusted upwards to their final position. This can be done by either pulling more wire through the Gripple on the tail end, or by sliding the Gripple up the active line. However, a setting key is provided to allow for slight adjustments downwards when not under load.

Once fitted, the hanger will self-load under the weight of the installation, securing the serrated teeth in place and ensuring no vertical movement.
