Gripple the headline sponsor for Night Strider 2015

Gripple will be the headline sponsor of the St Luke’s Hospice Night Strider event.

Night Strider is Sheffield’s unique night time sponsored walking half marathon and 10k challenge, raising vital funds for the city’s only hospice.

Starting out from Tudor Square in Sheffield city centre at 9.30pm on Saturday October 17, the walk will take in some of Sheffield’s finest and most popular locations.

Internationally acclaimed and award winning Gripple is one of Sheffield’s most famous names in export and both the company and founder Hugh Facey are keen supporters of St Luke’s.

“We are delighted that Gripple have agreed to be our headline sponsors for this major new fundraising event,” said St Luke’s Events Manager David Martin.

“Gripple’s sponsorship is an outstanding example of a great Sheffield company supporting a fantastic Sheffield cause!

“With hundreds of people already signed up and with plenty of time still to register, it’s brilliant that a company like Gripple is not only giving us vital financial help but will also be putting forward a team to take part in Night Strider and even providing volunteer support along the route.”

With either a full half marathon distance or a shorter 10k route to choose from, Night Strider is open to everybody over the age of 13 - though participants aged 13 to 17 must be registered and accompanied by another participant aged 18 or over.

“It will be an amazing night, thousands of people illuminated with individual lights, walking under the Sheffield night sky,” said David.

“Every stride makes a difference because the sponsorship every walker raises will ensure that St Luke’s can continue to be there for our family, our friends, our city – for life!”
