Leading the way in being green
For our efforts in sustainable development, we're immensely proud to have won a Green Apple Environment Award, placing us amongst Britain’s greenest organisations. Gripple was one of 500 entrants to secure one of the coveted national awards, which will be presented to us at the House of Commons in November.
Our commitment to the environment is long-established - last year, we were given the Queens Award for our commitment to sustainable development, and participated in the 10:10 campaign to reduce carbon emissions by 10%. We now have the opportunity of being published in The Green Book - the leading reference work on environmental best practice - and will be considered to represent the UK in the European Business Awards for the Environment.
Created in 1994, the Green Apple Environment Awards scheme is now established as the country’s major recognition of environmental efforts by companies, councils, communities and countries. The scheme is organized by the Green Organisation, an independent, non-profit environment group dedicated to recognising and promoting environmental best practice.
Our managing director Mark Edmonds said "This award is a notable achievement by our company as it reflects the huge effort our people make in protecting the environment we all value so highly. Gripple is proud to be numbered among those who share our commitment and have been so prestigiously recognised for making worthwhile contributions to sustainable development."
